Harrison Ford endorses Harris: 'We need a president who works for us all'

The Shrinking star collaborated with the Harris-Walz campaign to broadcast three films in which he explained why he supported the vice president and Minnesota governor over Donald Trump.

"When dozens of former members of the Trump administration are sounding alarms, saying, 'For God's sake, don't do this again,' you have to pay attention," Ford stated in a particular video (above). "They are telling us something vital. These are not soft folks. They're governors and generals, standing up to the head of the party they've spent their whole careers fighting for."

He asserted that for many individuals, this would be their first time voting for someone who does not have the letters "R" for Republican next to their names because "they know this really matters."

"The fact is that Kamala Harris will defend your freedom to disagree with her on policies or ideas, and then, as we have for generations, we will discuss them. "We'll work on them together and move forward," the Indiana Jones actor said. "The other guy demands unquestioned obedience and claims he wants vengeance. I'm Harrison Ford. I have one vote, just like everyone else, and I want to utilize it to go forward. "I am going to vote for Kamala Harris."

In another video published in conjunction with the campaign, Ford stated that he does not agree with Harris and Walz on every subject, nor does he feel they are perfect, but "these two people believe in the rule of law."

"They believe in science," he added. "They feel that when you rule, you represent all Americans. They feel we're in this together. These are ideals that I believe in. These are folks I can rally around."

The Star Wars star further explained that he is angry with "a lot of things in this country," and that he is "sure" that others are as well. "But the other guy, he spent four years turning us against each other while embracing dictators and tyrants around the world," he said. "That is not who we are." We do not need to make America great again. Come on, we are amazing, but we need to work together again. "What we need is a president who will work for all of us again."

In the third video, Ford addressed those who are still undecided about who to vote for in the next presidential election on November 5.

"If you're still undecided, consider who is attempting to terrify you into voting for them. Who is attempting to make you look at your neighbors with rage, distrust, and contempt, and who is urging you to create something with those around you?" he said. "It would be really nice to move forward."

Ford's endorsement comes after LeBron James announced his support for the vice president and Minnesota governor in a social media post on Thursday. He said, "What are we even talking about here? When I consider my children and family, and how they will grow up, the decision is obvious to me. VOTE FOR KAMALA HARRIS!"

Cardi B also declared her support for Harris at her Milwaukee event on Friday, when she delivered a 10-minute statement in which she stated that she had neither supported Trump or Joe Biden before to his withdrawal from the race. But when Harris entered the race, he "changed my mind completely."

"I didn't have faith in any candidates until she joined and spoke the words I wanted to hear about the future of this country," Cardi B remarked of the vice president. "I trust whatever she says. She is passionate, sympathetic, and empathic, but most importantly, she is realistic. Kamala realizes that this country is in danger and that we must boost our economy and solve the growing cost of living."

Then she focused on Trump's recent remarks on protecting women whether they "like it or not."

"Protection for women — especially regarding maternal and mental health care — is not about telling us what to do with our bodies," according to the rapper. "It's about assisting us and providing the care we require for our decisions. People like Donald Trump do not feel that women deserve rights."

Ford, James, and Bardi B are among other celebrities who have endorsed Harris and Walz, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, George Clooney, Bruce Springsteen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Megan Thee Stallion, Michael Keaton, Eminem, Leonardo DiCaprio, Bad Bunny, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, among others.
