Trump Calls Biden 'Stupid' and 'Mean' at Black-Tie Founders Dinner Hosted by Ben Carson

‎President Donald Trump used his speech at the American Cornerstone Institute’s fourth annual Founders Dinner on Saturday night to sharply criticize his predecessor, President Joe Biden. Addressing the black-tie gathering, Trump referred to Biden as “stupid” and “mean,” repeating a line of attack he has used frequently in recent years.

‎The event, organized by Trump’s former Housing Secretary Dr. Ben Carson and his wife Candy, drew attention as Trump alternated between highlighting his administration’s achievements and targeting Biden. He cited his efforts to “end the weaponization of law enforcement against religious believers” before describing Biden as “always a mean guy, but never a smart guy,” adding that their relationship stretched back decades.
‎Trump told attendees, “He was always a mean son of a b---h. How’s it working? Not working too well for him now. When you start feeling sorry for him, remember he was a bad guy.” He then returned to remarks about reducing anti-Christian bias in the United States, noting the country’s pledge of allegiance contains direct references to God.
‎Since assuming the presidency in January, Trump has frequently directed criticism toward Biden. Reports from outlets such as The Wall Street Journal have suggested the tactic may have diminishing effectiveness. Trump has labeled Biden a “low-IQ individual” since 2019 and has previously promoted conspiracy theories about him, including a claim that Biden was replaced by a robot clone in 2020.
‎During his remarks, Trump also invoked the legacy of America’s earliest leaders. He claimed that President George Washington would have supported him and quoted an unnamed source who ranked him as the nation’s third-best president, behind Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
‎Trump concluded by announcing that Dr. Carson will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Carson, who led the Department of Housing and Urban Development during Trump’s first administration, founded the American Cornerstone Institute in 2021 following Trump’s departure from office.
