‎2026 Oscar Nominations Revealed: 'Sinners' Tops Field With Historic 16 Nods — Full List

‎The Academy has unveiled the full slate of nominees for the 2026 Oscars, with Sinners emerging as the most recognized film of the year after earning a record-setting 16 nominations.
‎The film secured nods in major categories, including best picture, best director and best original screenplay, placing it firmly at the center of this awards season. Close behind is One Battle After Another, which collected 13 nominations. Meanwhile, Frankenstein, Marty Supreme and Sentimental Value each picked up nine mentions.
‎The complete 2026 Oscar nominations list as “Sinners” leads with 16 nods, major studios dominate, and a new casting category debuts.
‎Warner Bros.
‎All five of those titles will compete for the coveted best picture prize, alongside Bugonia, F1, Hamnet, The Secret Agent and Train Dreams.
‎From a studio perspective, Warner Bros. led the way with 30 total nominations, boosted by the strong performances of Sinners and One Battle After Another. Neon followed with 18, thanks largely to The Secret Agent and Sentimental Value, while Netflix secured 16 nods, including those for Frankenstein and Train Dreams.
‎Notable omissions and surprises also marked this year’s announcement. Wicked: For Good failed to receive a single nomination, while Delroy Lindo and Kate Hudson were among the unexpected names to earn recognition.
‎The nominations were revealed live from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater, with Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman announcing contenders across 24 categories, including the newly introduced award for best casting.
‎This year marks the first addition of a new category since best animated feature debuted in 2002. The casting award followed a rigorous process that began with a shortlist of 10 films last month. Final nominees were selected by members of the casting directors branch after special “bake-off” presentations. Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, The Secret Agent and Sinners all landed in that category.
‎Voting procedures have also tightened. Academy members must now confirm they have watched every nominated film in a category before voting, with viewings tracked through the Academy Screening Room app or documented through verification forms for external screenings.
‎The 2026 Oscars will be hosted once again by Conan O’Brien and will air live on ABC and Hulu from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 15, beginning at 4 p.m. PT.
‎Last year’s top prize for best picture went to Anora, which won five awards overall, including best director for Sean Baker and best actress for Mikey Madison. Adrien Brody claimed best actor for The Brutalist, while Zoe Saldaña and Kieran Culkin captured supporting honors for Emilia Pérez and A Real Pain respectively.
