‎The Witcher Season 4 Release Date, Cast, and First Look: Liam Hemsworth Takes Over as Geralt

‎Geralt of Rivia returns to Netflix as The Witcher prepares for its highly anticipated Season 4. The fantasy drama, inspired by CD Projekt Red’s video games and Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels, will drop its eight-episode season on October 30.
Netflix’s The Witcher Season 4 premieres Oct. 30, featuring Liam Hemsworth as Geralt, new adventures, and a star-studded returning cast.

‎Henry Cavill, who portrayed the white-haired witcher in the first three seasons, announced his departure from the series on Instagram in October 2022. Liam Hemsworth now steps into the role of Geralt, carrying forward the legacy of the White Wolf. Cavill reflected on his journey as Geralt, noting the adventures and battles he experienced before passing the mantle to Hemsworth.
‎The first teaser for Season 4 showcases Hemsworth’s Geralt confronting a ghostly wraith, closely mirroring Cavill’s version of the character. The official logline teases a fractured Continent: “After the Continent-altering events of Season 3, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge, and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good.”
‎Returning cast members include Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla, Joey Batey as Jaskier, Laurence Fishburne as Regis, and Sharlto Copley as Leo Bonhart, among others. Season 4 continues the epic narrative, with Season 5 confirmed as the final season. Both final seasons were filmed back-to-back, adapting three remaining novels: Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake.
‎Showrunner and executive producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich described the next two seasons as “a journey for our family to finally reunite and be together — hopefully forever,” promising fans an emotional and action-packed continuation of the beloved series.
