‎Netflix Renews 'The Hunting Wives' for Season 2 with Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman Returning

‎Netflix has officially renewed The Hunting Wives for a second season, bringing back the sultry Texas-set thriller that quickly became one of the platform’s most-watched summer hits.
‎The series, led by Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman, will continue to follow the tangled relationship between Sophie (Snow) and Margo (Akerman). Creator and showrunner Rebecca Cutter confirmed she is developing new scripts that expand the story beyond the dramatic cliffhanger of season one.
‎Netflix renews The Hunting Wives for Season 2, with Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman reprising roles in Rebecca Cutter’s steamy Texas thriller.

‎Cutter, who previously helmed the Starz series Hightown, said she was eager to dive back into the world of Maple Brook, promising viewers another “sexy, twisted, crazy ride.” The show, adapted from May Cobb’s bestselling 2021 novel, has already proven its cultural impact, fueling a massive resurgence in book sales. Publisher Berkley reported a 5,000 percent increase in weekly sales across all formats following the show’s premiere.
‎Originally produced for Starz, The Hunting Wives was acquired by Netflix earlier this year after Lionsgate’s separation from the network. The series debuted on July 21 and spent five weeks in the Top 10, ultimately becoming the most-viewed streaming series in the U.S.
‎Season two will expand its reach globally, premiering as a full Netflix branded series in nearly all territories where the platform operates. Returning cast members include Jaime Ray Newman, Dermot Mulroney, Evan Jonigkeit, and George Ferrier.
‎The official logline teases escalating tension: “At the start of season two, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises: Are they the hunters or the hunted?”
‎The series’ blend of erotic drama and cultural tension has been part of its intrigue, with Cutter noting its unique mix of small-town Texas conservatism and bold, provocative storytelling. She hinted that her vision extends well beyond two seasons, with the story structured for multiple chapters.
‎Executive producers include Erwin Stoff for 3 Arts Entertainment, alongside Cobb and Cutter. Cutter’s other project, Hightown, is also now streaming on Netflix, and she is developing an additional series with Jerry Bruckheimer Television.
