‎HUNTR/X's 'Golden' Tops U.K. Singles Chart for Fifth Week as K-pop Breakout Hit

‎HUNTR/X’s “Golden” continues to dominate the Official U.K. Singles Chart, securing its fifth non-consecutive week at No. 1 as of September 5. The breakout track from Netflix’s animated hit KPop Demon Hunters extends its record as the longest-running K-pop single to hold the top spot in the U.K. chart history. PSY’s “Gangnam Style” previously reached No. 1 in 2012 for a single week.
HUNTR/X’s “Golden” secures a fifth week at No. 1 on the U.K. Singles Chart, surpassing past K-pop records as Olivia Dean and Sabrina Carpenter rise.

‎“Golden,” performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, is credited to the fictional group HUNTR/X, whose chart-topping success has helped drive the soundtrack’s popularity. Two more songs from the film have entered the top 10, with Saja Boys’ “Soda Pop” landing at No. 5 and “Your Idol” reaching No. 8, marking a strong showing for the animated feature’s music.
‎K-pop acts also saw broader success this week. TWICE placed two singles in the top 40 with “Takedown” at No. 24 and “Strategy” at No. 32. Following their headline shows at Wembley Stadium, BLACKPINK’s “JUMP” rose to No. 34.
‎Olivia Dean earned her highest-ever chart position, with “Man I Need” closing the week at No. 2. Dean placed three additional singles in the top 40, including “Nice To Each Other” at No. 9, her Sam Fender collaboration “Rein Me In” at No. 11, and her 2023 release “Dive” at No. 22. Her U.K. arena tour, which includes four sold-out shows at The O2 in London, has further boosted her chart momentum. “Man I Need” also entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 82.
‎Sabrina Carpenter also delivered a strong week, placing three songs in the top 10. “Tears” finished at No. 3, “Manchild” at No. 4, and “My Man on Willpower” at No. 7, complementing her U.K. Albums Chart success with Man’s Best Friend.
‎Classic British acts also made chart returns. Coldplay’s “Sparks” reached No. 19 and Gorillaz’s “Feel Good Inc” climbed to No. 30 following their recent sold-out shows in London.
