Owen Cooper made history as the youngest-ever male Emmy winner with his supporting actor award. Philip Barantini won best directing for a limited or anthology series or movie, while Graham and Jack Thorne collected best writing honors.
‎The Studio, led by Seth Rogen, captured four major awards, including best comedy series. Rogen also won best actor in a comedy series and shared both the directing award with Evan Goldberg and the writing prize with Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez.
‎The Pitt claimed three Emmys, including best drama series. Noah Wyle secured best actor in a drama series, and Katherine LaNasa scored best supporting actress in a drama series, outperforming nominees from The White Lotus.
‎Comedy category surprises included Jeff Hiller’s best supporting actor win for Somebody Somewhere, where he triumphed over Harrison Ford’s first Emmy nomination.
‎The Late Show With Stephen Colbert earned best talk series just two months after CBS announced its cancellation. The audience greeted Colbert and his team with a standing ovation as chants of “Stephen! Stephen!” filled the theater.
‎In the variety categories, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver won best writing for a variety series and best scripted variety series, prevailing over Saturday Night Live in both fields. However, SNL50: The Anniversary Special won best variety special (live), marking the long-running show’s 112th Emmy overall and Lorne Michaels’ 22nd personal award.
‎Other winners included Adam Randall for best directing in a drama series for Slow Horses and Dan Gilroy for best writing in a drama series with Andor. The Traitors secured the trophy for best reality competition program.
‎The ceremony featured special moments, including a Law & Order cast reunion, tributes during the In Memoriam segment led by Phylicia Rashad, and the presentation of the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award to Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen. The event also raised $350,000 for the Boys and Girls Club.
