Gal Gadot breaks silence on 'Snow White' box office failure, Rachel Zegler bond, and life after protests
Gal Gadot has opened up about the commercial failure of Disney’s live-action Snow White and dismissed speculation of tension with her co-star Rachel Zegler.
Speaking on Israeli television program The A Talks on Keshet 12, Gadot recalled her time on set as positive, highlighting her friendship with Zegler. “We laughed and we talked, we had fun. I was positive the movie was going to be a huge hit,” she said. The actress added that external pressures tied to the aftermath of October 7 significantly affected the film’s reception and its box office performance.

The program, based on the French format Les Rencontres du Papotin, features celebrities being interviewed by journalists on the autism spectrum. Past guests on the French version include French President Emmanuel Macron and actress Marion Cotillard. In Israel, the show is hosted by Gadot’s close friend, actress and TV personality Rotem Sela.
Currently spending the summer in Israel, Gadot reflected on her recent filming of the action thriller The Runner in the United Kingdom, where she faced protests. She described the period as difficult, noting that her husband Jaron Varsano and their two eldest daughters were in Los Angeles while she stayed near London with their younger children. “During filming, I was targeted by pro-Palestinian protesters… I felt alone,” she said.
Gadot expressed that she feels safest in Israel despite ongoing missile attack alarms. She explained that living abroad as a high-profile Israeli public figure has become increasingly complicated, requiring her to have security protection when working outside the country.
The Wonder Woman star also addressed criticism from Israelis over her decision not to wear a yellow ribbon pin at the 2025 Golden Globes, symbolizing solidarity with hostages still held in Gaza. Gadot said the decision was tied to professional obligations. “It did not feel right to wear the pin for work. It might have been a mistake,” she admitted.
During the interview, Gadot revisited other aspects of her career and personal life. She reflected on undergoing emergency brain surgery in March 2024, acknowledged earning less than Chris Pine for her breakout role in Wonder Woman, and called her guest role on HBO’s Entourage her biggest career regret. She recalled leaving the set after an inappropriate incident with a colleague, never to return.
When asked to assess her acting, Gadot described herself as “solid” and emphasized her work ethic as her greatest strength. “I am not afraid to work hard and I never let anything stand in my way. I just go, go, go,” she said.
