Netflix unveils teasers and trailers for Beastars, Blue Eye Samurai, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, and more at Anime Expo 2025
Netflix captivated attendees at the Peacock Theater on Saturday during its Anime Expo showcase with a wave of announcements, fresh footage, and creative insights from some of its most talked-about anime series, including Beastars, Blue Eye Samurai, Record of Ragnarok III, and Sakamoto Days.

Kicking off the panel, a dynamic sizzle reel set the tone before the crowd was treated to the long-awaited trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. First revealed at the CD Projekt Red panel a day earlier, the new season was formally introduced by returning showrunner Bartosz Sztybor. Reflecting on the series' unexpected impact, Sztybor acknowledged the overwhelming support from viewers. He expressed disbelief at the show's reach, recalling modest expectations during its early development.
The Blue Eye Samurai segment featured pre-recorded interviews with creators Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, joined by executive producer Jane Wu. The Emmy-winning series is set to return with Mizu’s unwavering pursuit of vengeance. Noizumi emphasized that revenge remains central to Mizu’s story, noting her relentless focus. Green elaborated that season two will begin with Mizu targeting one of her enemies in a fabled location identified as London, signaling a dramatic opening. Familiar characters such as Ringo, Taigen, Akemi, and the Swordmaker are all confirmed to return, alongside hints that presumed-dead individuals may still be alive.
During the presentation, Netflix also debuted new visuals from the concluding season of Beastars, confirming that the second part will launch in 2026. This marked the continuation of a story arc that has drawn a global following for its thematic depth and unique animation style.
For Record of Ragnarok III, excitement built as voice actors Cory Yee and J. Michael Tatum made brief appearances to introduce the season three trailer. Their involvement offered fans a personal connection to the upcoming installment, further igniting anticipation.
The creative team behind Sakamoto Days, director Masaki Watanabe and producer Genki Ito, took the stage to share their reactions to the warm reception from international audiences. Ito spoke emotionally about the show’s success, attributing it to the enthusiasm and support of fans worldwide. Watanabe and Ito provided early insights into the second part of the season, launching July 14. They revealed that viewers can expect an influx of new characters and heightened action, including a spotlight battle featuring the enigmatic Yoichi Nagumo.
Additional presentations included exclusive clips and sneak peeks from several upcoming projects. Among them were the emotionally driven supernatural drama The Summer Hikaru Died, the romantic narrative The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity, and the highly anticipated My Melody & Kuromi series.
