Dropping on Friday, “Outside” marks Cardi B’s first standalone release since 2024’s “Enough (Miami),” and showcases the Bronx-born star’s signature blend of unfiltered lyricism and high-energy performance. The song is expected to heat up the charts, social media, and summer playlists alike.
With an infectious chorus that declares, “(I’m goin’ out) On the pop out (Side) ‘Cause it’s hot out,” Cardi sets the tone for a summer anthem rooted in freedom, confidence, and street-smart resilience.
The single was teased earlier this week when Cardi B posted to Instagram: “We OUTSIDE this Friday!!” Alongside her caption, she shared cover art depicting the aftermath of a classic NYC block party—featuring red Solo cups, a burst fire hydrant, dominoes, and blunt wrappers—a visual love letter to urban summer culture.
Adding to the buzz, Cardi gave an early live performance of “Outside” at Spotify Beach during the Cannes Lions Festival in France on Wednesday. Fans quickly took to social media to praise the new track’s unapologetic energy and savage lyricism.
“When I tell you these n***as ain’t shit, please believe me,” she raps in the song’s opening verse. “Good for nothing, low-down, dirty dogs, I’m convinced.”
“Outside” continues Cardi B’s streak of provocative and empowering releases. While her last full album, Invasion of Privacy, debuted back in 2018, the artist has hinted that her long-awaited sophomore album is still in the works—though delayed due to pending guest features.
Cardi B’s track record speaks for itself. With five Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s under her belt—including hits like “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” “WAP,” and “Up”—expectations are high. If “Outside” is any indication, Cardi is poised to dominate yet another summer.
