‎Here’s everything you need to know about the ongoing situation:
‎1. Restraining Order Granted
‎On May 13, 2025, Halle Bailey was granted a temporary restraining order against DDG (real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.). The order restricts him from contacting or approaching her, pending a hearing on June 4 to determine whether it will be made permanent.
‎2. Allegations of Physical Abuse
‎Bailey alleged in court documents that “things got physical” beginning in January 2025. She described an incident where DDG allegedly pulled her hair and slammed her face into a steering wheel while their son was present, resulting in a chipped tooth. She included photos of her injuries in her filing.
‎3. Multiple Reported Incidents
‎In addition to the January incident, Bailey detailed two further altercations—one in March, for which she also filed a police report, and another over Mother’s Day weekend. She claims DDG sent her accusatory texts while she was on a trip with their son and her mother.
‎4. Ongoing Custody Disputes
‎The former couple has experienced ongoing custody-related tension since their October 2024 split. Bailey has asked the court for permission to take their son, Halo, with her to Italy for a film project, where she’ll be supported by family and a traveling nanny.
‎5. Concerns Over Online Harassment
‎Bailey also requested a cease-and-desist order to prevent DDG from posting or streaming content about her or their son, citing online harassment and threats from his fanbase. She stated that she feels "afraid and victimized," and is concerned for both her and Halo’s safety.
‎6. Public Fallout Since the Breakup
‎Following their split, both Bailey and DDG have publicly addressed aspects of their relationship and co-parenting struggles—through social media, music, and YouTube content. In November, Bailey expressed frustration over an “unapproved” appearance by their son on a livestream. DDG later responded publicly, defending her against backlash.
‎7. Upcoming Court Hearing
‎A court hearing is scheduled for June 4, when a judge will decide whether to issue a permanent restraining order and determine the conditions of future custody and online boundaries.
