Unedited surveillance video shows Sean 'Diddy' Combs assaulting Cassie Ventura in 2016 hotel incident

Newly released hotel surveillance footage has surfaced showing Sean “Diddy” Combs physically assaulting his then-girlfriend, singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, in a Los Angeles hotel hallway in 2016. The disturbing unedited video, played in federal court Tuesday, is now central to a sweeping criminal trial that includes charges of sex trafficking and racketeering against the music mogul.
Cassie sued former partner Sean 'Diddy' Combs under New York's Adult Survivors Act.

‎The footage, recorded at the now-shuttered InterContinental Hotel in Century City, captures Ventura—barefoot, dressed in an oversized hoodie—walking through the hallway before Combs, wearing only a robe and socks, rushes into view. Seconds later, Combs is seen forcibly dragging Ventura back into frame by her hoodie.
‎The video spans roughly 15 minutes, during which Combs is shown confronting, restraining, and yelling at Ventura. Security guard Israel Florez is also seen intervening, speaking briefly with both parties. Florez testified Monday that Combs offered him cash to stay silent about the assault. He later directed Ventura to retrieve her belongings from the room after Combs left the area.
‎Cassie Ventura, now 38, took the stand Tuesday to describe what she called a decade-long pattern of abuse, coercion, and dehumanization. Her testimony detailed how Combs allegedly forced her into degrading sexual acts, hosted multi-day drug-fueled orgies known as “Freak-Offs,” and exerted intense control over her life.
‎The surveillance footage—first partially revealed by CNN in May 2024—is now public in its entirety for the first time. It accompanies photographic evidence presented by LAPD investigators of property damage in the hotel room.
‎Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, and transportation for illegal sexual activity. He denies all allegations.
‎Ventura filed a civil lawsuit in November 2023, which was settled privately within days, though the criminal investigation continued. The new footage has intensified public scrutiny and prompted renewed conversations around power, abuse, and accountability in the entertainment industry.
