Zendaya says acting with beau Tom Holland is 'second nature': 'You feel extra safe'

Zendaya and Tom Holland may keep their romance private for the most part, but the Emmy-winning actress did briefly discuss what it's like to work with her real-life partner onscreen.

In her Vanity Fair profile for the Hollywood issue, the Euphoria star was questioned if it's strange working alongside Holland.

"It's actually strangely comfortable," she told the publication. "It's almost like it comes naturally. You feel especially safe with the individual you're acting alongside. I enjoy working with him. He's really brilliant and dedicated about his work."

She continued, "He constantly gives everything he has, even when he's exhausted. I genuinely admire that about him. It feels fairly typical. That is how we met. Literally, at a chemical reading."

Zendaya and Holland met while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming, and they are poised to co-star in Christopher Nolan's upcoming untitled picture alongside Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, and Lupita Nyong'o.

In the feature, the Challengers star also discussed the new season of Euphoria, which will begin filming in January. While she has yet to see a script for season three, she is excited to see where the Emmy-winning series goes.

When asked where she stood with the program and Sam Levinson, she replied, "I don't really have much of an answer except that right now it's set to start shooting in January." "The most important thing for me is to do credit to the people who love and care about Rue, and to ensure that she is well-cared for as a character. "I believe that is my primary responsibility."

The third season of Euphoria was postponed earlier this year. According to sources, HBO's decision to postpone production of the drama, which also stars Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, and others, was influenced by a variety of issues.

Since Levinson intends to include a time jump between the conclusion of season two and the start of season three, the network was reportedly in private discussions with him concerning the show's future after the protagonists graduated from high school.

When Zendaya returns to set, it will be two years since the second season was released and three years since filming began.

"I've been waiting," the Dune: Part Two star explained. "I'm about to start filming a project just before Euphoria, and I'm like, 'Man, I'm rusty. I haven't been on a set for almost two years. I'm a little afraid. I'm like, Can I do this anymore? I don't know.'"

However, the actress noted that she has this feeling every time she embarks on a new project.

"You always say, 'What am I even doing?' On the first day on set, you're like, 'I was terrible.' I was shit. Everybody hates me. I'm going to be fired tomorrow. And when the director says, 'You did a terrific job,' you say, 'You're lying. 'You are actually lying to me.'"
