Liam Payne was trying to escape from balcony when he fell to his death

Liam Payne died on October 16 while apparently attempting to flee his hotel room at CasaSur Palermo via the balcony, TMZ reports.

After additional surveillance footage from the Buenos Aires hotel was revealed, which showed three men carrying the singer through the lobby and toward his room, it is now assumed that Payne was attempting to leave the property in some way.

According to a police report obtained by TMZ, a black New York Yankees cap and a Louis Vuitton bag were found near to Payne's corpse after his death. Neither of these things can be seen on him in the previous security film, indicating that he put them on when he returned to the room.

Per the report, a brown leather bag with a message that read, "For Liam," numerous pills, and a bottle of Jack Daniel's was also discovered by a hotel staff member on the balcony of the room directly below Payne's, according to the report.

The bag is said to have belonged to the former One Direction singer, who appears to have abandoned it on the second floor while attempting to escape. It appears that he wanted to jump to the second-floor balcony before climbing down again.

However, that plan appeared to fail when he lost consciousness and died after falling from his third-story balcony. He was 31.

Payne was also known for scaling ledges and exploiting balconies as an escape route.

A source also informed TMZ that his security locked him in a Florida rental in mid-September, suspecting the "Night Changes" singer was on a drug binge. He then escaped through the balcony, using a hose to go down.

This fresh hypothesis comes only days after film acquired by the DailyMail showed Payne in the foyer of a Buenos Aires hotel, where he was "convulsing" due to drugs.

The three men, who are presumably hotel employees, scooped up Payne and returned him to his room, according to the pictures. One of them also removed a mirror hanging outside the singer's door, presumably so he wouldn't ruin it as he did his room, according to a police report acquired by the site.

According to the timestamps on the security film, all of this occurred just minutes before Payne fell from the balcony of his third-floor room.

At the moment, a man identifying himself as a manager contacted 911 and requested SAME, Argentina's medical emergency services.

"We have a visitor that is [supposedly] high and intoxicated, and when he is aware, he is wrecking his room, so please send someone. We need you to send someone immediately because I'm not sure whether his life is in danger," the man, identified only as Estaban, told the dispatcher.

"He is in a room that has a balcony and we are scared he might be endangering his life."

By the time the paramedics came, Payne had died after falling off the balcony. Three men have now been charged with their suspected roles in Payne's tragic death.

Braian Nahuel Paiz, an accused drug dealer and former hotel employee, has been charged with selling drugs to the "Story of My Life" singer. Paiz has disputed the allegations against him.

The prosecutor's office also accused Payne's buddy, Rogelio "Roger" Nores, with carelessness for failing to reply to hotel staff calls and not informing the singer's family about his relapse. He has denied abandoning a father of one.
