Ben Affleck 'never looked back' after separating with Jennifer Lopez and moving out of their house

Breakups tend to bring out people's sentimental sides, but Ben Affleck didn't waste time reflecting on the past after splitting from Jennifer Lopez, according to one source in a new People article.

In fact, the insider told the newspaper that Affleck "never looked back" after moving out of his Beverly Hills residence with Lopez earlier this year. Lopez later filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20, citing their separation date of April 26, 2024.

The Air director is now "very focused on work and his kids," according to the insider. "He's staying busy and happy."

Affleck and Lopez married in 2022, over two decades after calling off their original 2003 engagement.

Lopez recently discussed their split with Nikki Glaser for Interview.

"There have been times when I thought I had everything figured out, but then life says, 'Let's send you another item and see if you fall for it. Let's test if you actually learned that lesson. "And I hadn't," the singer explained. "I understand that now in a much deeper way, which doesn't mean I won't make mistakes in the future, but when your entire house blows up, you're standing there in the rubble thinking, 'How do I never let that happen again?' And then you begin to examine it piece by piece, saying, 'Okay, I did this, this was my part in it, this was what I should have recognized early on, this is what I didn't look at.' "Those are the real lessons."

Reflecting about her new existence as a single woman, she said, "It feels lonely, unfamiliar, and scary." It feels depressing. It gives off a desperate vibe. But when you stay in those feelings and say, 'These things are not going to kill me,' it's as if you can genuinely experience joy and happiness on your own. Being in a relationship does not define me. I cannot look for happiness in others. I need to find happiness within myself. I used to say I'm a cheerful person, but I was still seeking for something else to fill, and now it's like, 'No, I'm truly fine.'"
