‎Launching Wednesday, “Monster High: Paranormal Peril” invites up to four players to explore a haunted mystery inside Monster High. Developed using Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) in collaboration with Look North Interactive, the co-op adventure introduces twelve playable characters from the popular franchise.
‎Players can investigate a supernatural curse using Frankie’s ghost-hunting tools to uncover clues and reveal which ghoul — including Draculaura, Cleo, Clawdeen, Frankie, or Lagoona Blue — is behind the chaos. The game marks Mattel’s second release on Fortnite’s creator platform following the August debut of “Masters of the Universe: He-Man Heroes.”
‎Gamers can access “Monster High: Paranormal Peril” on Fortnite using the island code 3449-2677-1935.
‎Mattel will also bring “Monster High” to Roblox on October 24 as the first title in a larger partnership between the toy company and the gaming platform. The collaboration will feature future releases inspired by Barbie, Hot Wheels, Masters of the Universe, Uno, and additional Mattel franchises.
‎The Roblox experience allows fans to explore the haunted halls of Monster High, customize their “Creepanions,” craft elixirs in Frankie Stein’s Alchemy Lab, and join Clawdeen Wolf’s pack to fuel the mystical Ghoulstone. Players can unlock rewards, uncover secrets beneath the school, and engage with beloved Monster High characters in a fresh, interactive setting.
‎Mattel’s Polly Pocket and Street Sharks properties are now available via the Roblox License Manager and Licenses catalog, giving developers access to officially licensed assets for fan-made experiences. Matchbox and Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots will join the program soon, expanding opportunities for creative development within Roblox.
‎Stephanie Latham, Roblox’s vice president of global brand partnerships and advertising, highlighted the collaboration as a way to connect iconic brands with new generations of players. She emphasized that Mattel’s integration of franchises such as Monster High, Barbie, and Hot Wheels offers fans new ways to play and engage through immersive storytelling.
‎The company’s latest efforts mark a shift toward self-developed and self-published digital titles. While Mattel has previously seen major success with licensed projects like Gamefam’s “Barbie DreamHouse Tycoon” — which reached nearly 500 million visits — “Monster High: Paranormal Peril” and the upcoming Roblox release are among the first internally produced games.
‎Mattel has developed over 20 standalone games and digital integrations across mobile, console, PC, and in-car platforms this year. The company also revealed a partnership with OpenAI for future gaming developments and plans to release its first in-house mobile game next year.
‎Mattel’s senior vice president and global head of digital, Marcus Liassides, explained that these initiatives represent a pivotal moment for the company’s digital division. He stressed the importance of building internal publishing and development capabilities to expand Mattel’s digital footprint across multiple iconic brands.
