‎The 33-year-old served as the singing voice for Rumi, the lead character in KPop Demon Hunters, and co-wrote several songs on the soundtrack, including the chart-topping anthem “Golden.” The track, performed by EJAE alongside Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna, quickly climbed the charts and became a viral sensation across major streaming platforms.
‎Beyond her work on the film, EJAE has built an impressive career as a songwriter for some of K-pop’s most prominent artists. Her credits include songs for Aespa, Le Sserafim, Twice, and NMIXX.
‎EJAE, Rei Ami, and Audrey Nuna have been promoting “Golden” with live performances on Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. Their appearances have helped maintain the song’s strong presence on international charts.
‎KPop Demon Hunters has become Netflix’s most-watched title to date. The animated feature follows Huntrix, a K-pop girl group that doubles as a monster-fighting team, and has emerged as a cultural phenomenon. Its soundtrack has held a steady position in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart for several weeks, with discussions of a sequel underway between Netflix and Sony Animation.
‎The film’s music continues to dominate multiple charts. In August, Huntrix dethroned Alex Warren’s long-standing No. 1 to claim the top spot, holding it for eight consecutive weeks before briefly dropping and climbing back to No. 3. Additional tracks from the soundtrack, including “Your Idol” and “Soda Pop” by Saja Boys, as well as “How It’s Done” by Huntrix, remain strong on the Hot 100, marking a rare achievement for an animated project.
