‎Lady Gaga has officially joined the Wednesday universe with a highly anticipated cameo that stunned fans when Season 2’s second batch of episodes premiered on September 3. The Grammy and Academy Award-winning artist appeared in Episode 6, titled “Woe Thyself,” delivering a performance that blended supernatural suspense with the series’ gothic charm.

‎The episode shifts focus to Enid Sinclair, played by Emma Myers, and her complicated friendship with Wednesday Addams, portrayed by Jenna Ortega. As Wednesday searches for a way to regain her lost psychic abilities, she turns to her grandmother Hester, played by Joanna Lumley. Hester shares the story of Rosaline Rotwood, a former teacher known for her powerful psychic talents, setting Wednesday on a quest that leads her deep into the Nevermore cemetery.
‎At Rotwood’s grave, Wednesday recites an inscription that transports her to a spectral realm. Inside a decaying house, she encounters Rosaline Rotwood—played by Lady Gaga. Shrouded in a veil and glowing with ghostly intensity, Gaga’s Rotwood warns Wednesday to maintain her connection to the grave or risk dire consequences.
‎Events spiral when Enid, concerned for her friend, interrupts the ritual. This breaks Wednesday’s bond with Rotwood, and the spirit takes revenge by swapping the two girls into each other’s bodies. The episode then leans into a darkly comedic twist on the Freaky Friday trope, as Ortega and Myers fully embrace each other’s personalities while attempting to keep their classmates from noticing the supernatural mishap.
‎As dawn approaches, Rotwood reappears to deliver the only possible solution: Wednesday and Enid must uncover the hidden truths within each other’s lives before time runs out. Through this supernatural trial, Wednesday confronts her visions of Enid’s possible death and her struggle without psychic powers, while Enid reveals her discovery of being an Alpha werewolf and the dangers that status brings.
‎The episode concludes with both characters gaining a deeper understanding of one another. After acknowledging each other’s struggles, they are restored to their original bodies by Rotwood, reestablishing the fragile balance of their friendship.
‎Lady Gaga’s haunting cameo as Rosaline Rotwood marks her sole appearance in Wednesday Season 2. However, her presence was amplified on the same day with the release of her new Tim Burton–directed music video, “The Dead Dance.” Burton, who serves as executive producer on the series, ties the project seamlessly into the gothic world of Wednesday, leaving fans with both a memorable on-screen performance and a chilling musical companion.
