'Talk Is Cheap': Yamal Fires Back in Heated Barcelona vs Real Madrid Rivalry

‎Barcelona secured the La Liga title with a commanding 2-0 victory over Real Madrid in El Clasico, but much of the post-match attention shifted to Lamine Yamal after his sharp social media response reignited tensions with Jude Bellingham.

‎Shortly after the match, Yamal shared a video on his Instagram story showing himself celebrating Ferran Torres’ decisive goal from the stands. Alongside the clip, the 18-year-old added the caption “talk is cheap”, followed by several laughing emojis.
‎The phrase was not random, but a direct reference to earlier remarks made during the season’s heated exchanges between the two sides. Barcelona teammate Gavi further amplified the moment by reposting the story and adding a “talking” emoji, underlining the shared sentiment within the squad.

‎The tension between Yamal and Bellingham began after their first Clasico meeting at the Santiago Bernabeu in October. Real Madrid won that match 2-1, with Bellingham scoring and later posting on social media: "Talk is cheap. Hala Madrid always."
‎His message was widely seen as a response to Yamal’s pre-match comments, which had already stirred controversy. The young Barcelona winger had previously criticised officiating in Real Madrid matches, stating: "Real Madrid do things; they rob [games]" in reference to how he felt games were influenced.
‎That remark reportedly caused strong reactions within the Madrid camp and set the tone for the ongoing tension between both players.

‎The latest Clasico result proved decisive in the title race, as Barcelona’s 2-0 win confirmed their La Liga triumph. Goals from Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres secured victory in front of their arch-rivals, completing a memorable night at Camp Nou.
‎The win marked back-to-back league titles for Barcelona under Hansi Flick, who also guided the team to Supercopa success earlier in the season. In contrast, Real Madrid ended the campaign without silverware in a disappointing outcome for the capital club.
‎Despite his involvement in the celebrations, Yamal is currently focused on recovery after suffering a tear in the hamstring of his left thigh last month. The injury has ruled him out for the remainder of the season, with a conservative rehabilitation plan now in place as he targets full fitness ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
