Liverpool Target Yan Diomande Confirms RB Leipzig Stay Following Award-Winning Bundesliga Campaign

‎Yan Diomande has confirmed his intention to continue at RB Leipzig following an exceptional debut campaign that has drawn interest from Liverpool and other clubs across Europe.
‎The teenage winger has become one of the Bundesliga’s brightest young stars after a breakthrough season at the Red Bull Arena. Despite reports linking him with a future move to the Premier League, the 19-year-old says he remains fully committed to Leipzig.

‎Diomande still has a long-term agreement with the German side after signing a contract until 2030 when he arrived last summer. The opportunity to continue developing while competing in the Champions League has played a major role in his decision to stay.
‎Asked whether he expects to remain with Leipzig next season, Diomande answered: “Yes.”
‎The forward later expanded on his current mindset, saying: “I'm not thinking about that at the moment. I'm under contract in Leipzig and I enjoy playing here. But nobody knows what will happen after that. Everyone has ambitions, including me. My dream is to play at the highest level possible.”
‎His comments arrive shortly after receiving Bundesliga Rookie of the Season honours for the 2025/26 season. The award capped a memorable year for the Ivorian talent, who finished ahead of Luka Vuskovic of Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Ibrahim Maza.
‎Diomande’s influence on Leipzig’s attack was clear throughout the campaign. He contributed 12 goals and eight assists, placing him behind only Christoph Baumgartner for combined goal involvements within the squad. Alongside his attacking numbers, he also won 55 percent of his duels, showcasing his all-round effectiveness.
‎Leipzig head coach Ole Werner has repeatedly spoken highly of the youngster’s qualities and attitude during the season. The manager believes Diomande’s energy, defensive effort and attacking directness make him a complete player.
‎“The manner in which he keeps the opposition on their toes, tracks back and runs at players – it’s a pretty complete package,” Leipzig boss Ole Werner said earlier this season. “He’s a top character, a good lad and an extraordinary talent.”
‎Diomande’s rapid progress since arriving in Germany has transformed him into one of Leipzig’s most valuable assets. His performances have also elevated his reputation internationally, with no player in world football recording a larger increase in market value since last summer.
