Real Madrid Star Vinicius Jr Told He Is 'Far From Neymar, Messi and Ronaldo'

‎Former Brazil and Joao Miranda has delivered a blunt assessment of Vinicius Jr, stating the Real Madrid winger is still not on the level of football’s greatest icons.
‎Despite his importance at the Santiago Bernabeu, Miranda believes Vinicius is missing a crucial element needed to join the elite category occupied by legends like Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Joao Miranda says Vinicius Jr is still far from Neymar, Messi and Ronaldo, noting he lacks key intangible traits despite Real Madrid impact and talent.

‎Gap to the All-Time Greats
‎Speaking on Mario Suarez’s YouTube channel, Miranda was direct about where Vinicius stands in comparison to the sport’s most dominant figures.
‎“For me, Vinicius has a lot of quality, but he is still far from Neymar, Messi, Cristiano,” he began.
‎He stressed that ability alone does not place a player in the same bracket as the long-standing superstars who defined an era.
‎What Vinicius Is Missing
‎Miranda acknowledged that the Brazilian forward matches the demands of modern football, combining technical skill with physical strength. However, he suggested something intangible is still absent.
‎“Football, at the moment, is the best we have, because for me football has changed a lot. It has a lot of physicality and Vinicius has the technical part and the physical part,” Miranda explained.
‎“But he is not like Messi and Neymar. He lacks something. I don’t know if it is charisma with people.”
‎Pressure and Focus in Spain
‎The discussion also touched on the intense scrutiny Vinicius faces in La Liga, including hostile environments and constant attention from fans and media.
‎Miranda, who also played in Spain with Atletico Madrid, shared how he dealt with similar challenges during his career.
‎“Here in Spain and in Europe, not anywhere, I have not experienced racism, because I had my head only to play football. What people said to me was only a distraction to take the focus away from the game,” he said.
‎Staying Focused on Performance
‎Miranda also warned about the impact of external pressure on a player’s performance, especially in high-stakes matches.
‎“When you’re going to play a game, if you let the fans take the focus away from the game, it changes the way you play a little, it takes away your concentration a little,” he added.
‎Vinicius has often been involved in heated moments with rival supporters and officials, something critics believe can affect his consistency at the highest level.
