‎Mia Goth joins Ryan Gosling in Star Wars: Starfighter, directed by Shawn Levy

‎Gosling will lead the sci-fi action feature, playing a protector tasked with shielding a mysterious young charge from dangerous enemies. Goth has signed on to portray one of the central antagonists—a role previously linked to Mikey Madison, whose negotiations reportedly fell through due to financial disagreements.
‎Star Wars: Starfighter is a self-contained story set in the galaxy far, far away, but it will not connect to the iconic Skywalker Saga. The film is set approximately five years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) and promises to explore an entirely new era in the franchise’s timeline.
‎“This is a stand-alone. It’s not a prequel, not a sequel. It’s a new adventure,” Levy said at Star Wars Celebration in Japan this April.
‎Goth, best known for her work in Ti West’s horror trilogy (X, Pearl, MaXXXine), continues to expand her profile with major roles in Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming Frankenstein and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
‎Lucasfilm declined to comment on the casting news, first reported by The InSneider newsletter.
